Painting Our Way Through a Pandemic!

For those of us of a certain age, the lyric 'Now, this is a story all about how my life got flip-turned upside down' immediately recalls images of Will Smith, the Fresh Prince, with a sweet high fade, overalls hanging off one shoulder and Carlton doing, well, 'The Carlton.' Thirty years later, it's a pretty apt way to describe the dumpster fire that is the year 2020! Whether it's a global pandemic, economic Armageddon, earthquakes, social unrest or murder hornets, 2020 will be one for the record books- and that's just the first 6 months of the year!

Admittedly, there have been better, more certain times to start a business, but Pintsize Picassos is something that we've been working on for a long time. Providing kids with an opportunity to uncover some artistic talent, create something of their very own, make memories and have fun is something that we're really passionate about and we've decided to jump in with both feet. Having said that, the ugly beast that is COVID-19 has dictated that we change things up a little bit. To help ensure social distancing and keep our artists safe, we'll be limiting our class sizes to eighteen participants (we figured on 34, originally!). We have installed Plexiglass at all of our tables so that everyone attending our classes will have their own private workstation. Our staff will all be wearing masks and we'll be checking temperatures at the door. We will also be cranking up the cleaning, washing all aprons after each class, disinfecting all tables, stools, easels and every other hard surface we can find. In short, we'll be doing everything that we can to keep everyone who comes through our doors as safe as possible. We're going to provide the kind of studio that we'd be comfortable taking our kids to!

We're getting close to opening. We haven't been able to announce an opening date because we've been waiting for some of our furniture to be delivered (thanks, again, COVID!), but we're expecting to be able to set the date soon.
